2001 Biennial Meeting

What's New

  • ADEA will hold its sixth Biennial Meeting in Arusha, Tanzania, October 7-11, 2001.New!
    The theme of the meeting is "Reaching Out, Reaching All: Sustaining Effective Policy and Practice for Education in Africa". About 230 participants will attend, including Ministers of Education, senior representatives of development agencies, and other education professionals.

  • Breaking the vicious circle of poverty: the latest newsletter examines the problem of debt and education in Africa and the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative.

  • A report on the impact of HIV/AIDS on universities in Africa has been published by ADEA's Working Group on Higher Education. The report is based on case studies conducted at seven universities in Benin, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia.
