Submitting Your Articles

Who can submit articles?

Any African journalist writing for a periodical published and distributed in Africa (daily, weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually) may compete.

Criteria for an article to compete

Articles submitted must be written in either French, English or Portuguese by the submitter on subjects relating to education in Africa. Articles must have been published in the African press after January 1st, 2006. Articles that have already been submitted once may not be re-submitted for future competitions. No more than 3 articles by the same author may be submitted for the same edition.

How to submit articles

Articles are to be sent to the ADEA Secretariat at the following address:

Note that participants submissions must include:

  • A copy of the newspaper in which the article appeared (in the original language).
  • The first and last names, including the contact information of the journalist and Editor-in-chief of the newspaper.
  • The references of the newspaper in which the article has been published.
  • The article must be accompanied by the completed application form.

Submission Deadline

For the Fifth Edition of the Award, articles must be sent no later than November 1st, 2007.
