With over 100 staff, the GPE Secretariat is hosted by the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and a small but growing team in Europe.

About the consultancy

We are looking for a Drupal web developer who can support the day-to-day maintenance of our website www.globalpartnership.org. Additionally, the consultant will be expected to help with the development, testing, implementation of code and applications.

The consultant will work remotely, is expected to start in April 2020, and will serve initially for 40 days until June 2020, with a possibility for extension.

The consultant will report directly to the GPE lead web developer.

Duties and accountabilities:

  • Responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS. Work closely with the GPE web team to ensure an effective, visually appealing, and intuitive implementation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, planning, and implementing changes.
  • Provide Drupal development for interactive features.
  • Work with the web team and assist in defining requirements for new initiatives.
  • Use the minimal amount of advanced scripting to ensure 100% accessibility and optimization to support a modern look-and-feel that fosters usability, high interactivity, and social media integration.
  • Develop and support Drupal functionality to enhance and maintain the GPE website.
  • Engage with Git/GitHub workflow.
  • Stay up to date with Drupal core and module improvements, and security patches and updates to comply with OIS accreditations.
  • Assist in debugging issues with hosting applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience building and maintaining Drupal sites.
  • Experience creating custom Drupal modules.
  • Extremely fluent with PHP, JavaScript, and the Bootstrap 4 framework.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.
  • Experience in systems administration and server maintenance would be a plus, particularly with AWS.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
