February 23 - 25 2010: High-Level Meeting on EFA
WGECD was represented at the High Level Meeting on EFA and where the meetings held during this meeting helped to raise the work plan WGECD.
March 23 - 25, 2010: The Mauritius-Africa program Initiative (MAI) was launched at the International Workshop on Early Childhood Development, which was held from 23 to 25 March 2010 at the Plantation Resort (Mauritius). TheWGECD was represented at this high-level meeting on EFA and meetings held sidelines of the meeting helped to raise the work plan WGECD.

March 2010 (Maputo, Mozambique): Meeting of the National Network / focal point of Mozambique
The National Network for ECD Mozambique met to respond to the preliminary results of the World Bank study on preschool. Over 30 participants took part in the meeting in Maputo. It should be noted that two weeks after this meeting, Mozambique requested a loan for a project of USD 48 million to the World Bank.

March 2010 (Washington DC, United States): Steering Committee Meeting of the Consultative Group
The international network of the Consultative Group on ECD held its biannual meeting in Washington with representation from each of the ECD regional networks. The ADEA WGECD took this time to introduce the new website WGECD and to coordinate 2 webinars with the ECD focal points, one in English and one in French.

March 22-25, 2010 (Balaclava, Mauritius): Centre of Excellence
The Government of Mauritius, the ADEA/WGECD and UNESCO launched a center of excellence for ECD speaking countries. Several focal points of the ADEA/WGECD attended the launch.

March 12-15, 2010 (Amman, Jordan): The World Conference on ECD indicators
WGECD participated in sharing the process of formulation, validation and adoption/integration of ECD indicators in the guide indicators of African Education Observatory. World leading researchers and program managers on ECD met to discuss the ECD indicators selection that could be used to measure the impact of ECD programming on children, parents / carers and the community.

One of the key objectives of the WGECD is to support the partners (focal points and others) in their efforts to advocate for early childhood policy at the regional level.

May 17-19, 2010 (Bonn, Germany): 32nd session of the Steering Committee of the ADEA
Participation in meetings of the Steering Committee allows to assist the ADEA in the areas of management, planning and evaluation and reporting. It also allows members to understand the activities of the working group.The Steering Committee organized by ADEA and BMZ / GTZ aimed to present the 2009 activity report and the preparation of the ADEA Triennale 2011.

July 4-9, 2010: Restricted meeting of the African Union on ECD indicators
The WGECD Secretariat took part in the closed meeting of the African Union on the indicators that showed the importance of ECD and recommend potential indicators that the African Union should adopt. It was after this meeting that these indicators have been adopted by the African Union.

June 13, 2010 (Dakar, Senegal): biennial meeting of the Secretariat/Chair of the WGECD
The biennial meeting of the Secretariat/Chair of the WGECD held in Dakar has attempted to assess the level of implementation of the 2010 work plan.

September 27 - 29, 2010 (Moscow, Russia): First World Conference on ECD
October 20-22, 2010 (Brussels, Belgium): ECD Global network meeting
October 26-28, 2010 (London, England): transitions and ECD
A summit was organized by members of the Steering Committee the WGECD to discuss how to link ECD programs for teaching in primary schools. The goal is to ensure that the joint is effective.
