The International Task Force on Teachers for Education For All (Task Force), Education International (EI) and UNESCO’s International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa will bring together over 100 participants to discuss the renewed agenda for teachers and quality education on 30 January in Addis Ababa, following the launch of the Education for All Global Monitoring Report 2013/14 on Teaching and Learning.

The Task Force will open this event with “Let’s build the future with our teachers” film premiere and present research reports on “Addressing the Teacher Gap through Efficient and Effective Policies and Practices”. These reports focus on Bangladesh, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Uganda.

These reports guide readers through lessons learned on teacher policies including examples on: how teaching methods are best achieved by involving teachers in the process; how policy reform is key to successfully meeting the educational needs of a changing population; how reform must go hand-in-hand with practical systems on the ground that support teachers in their development, all while providing a relevant and consistent teaching assessment process, and that enable students of school-going age, and of both genders, to equally access a system providing quality education.
