ADEA 2017 Triennale: Change of venue from Marrakesh to Diamniadio (Dakar)
Abidjan, 16th February 2017 – The flagship event of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the 2017 Triennale, initially scheduled to take place in Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco from the14th to the 17th of March 2017, will now take place in the Republic of Senegal under the high patronage of His Excellency Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and Lead Champion for the Committee of Ten Champion African Heads of State on Education, Science and Technology. The dates of the ADEA Triennale remain the same (14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of March, 2017).
The new venue which will host the ADEA 2017 Triennale in Senegal will be the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD) in Diamniadio, around 30 km from Dakar. President Macky Sall will grace the Official Opening Ceremony, scheduled for Thursday afternoon on 16th March 2017, together with other African Heads of State and Government, foreign Heads of State, African and non-African Ministers, development cooperation agencies and other prominent stakeholders in education, science and technology.
The change of venue has been facilitated by the mutual fraternal agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the government of the Republic of Senegal. The Government of Morocco has given
its blessings for the government of the Republic of Senegal to host the Triennale given that the decision to propose the hosting of the Triennale in the Kingdom of Morocco is beyond its control. The hosting and logistical preparations are underway between ADEA and the Government of the Republic of Senegal to expedite the process given the short notice.
ADEA sincerely apologise for the inconveniences that the changes may cause.
