South Korea which is ranked today as the tenth world economy, was far behind and poorer than many African countries in 1945. It has experienced occupation, colonization, poverty and a very high rate of illiteracy (more than 70 % in 1945). How has it accomplished such spectacular results in terms of development in only a few decades? The country has staked on Education, Training and Research.
The Republic of Korea, has been undertaking since a few years  a policy dialogue with different African countries. This dialogue is leading the way to cooperation policies based above all on the concept of "Sharing of Knowledge". The Minister of Education, Science and Technology as well as Research institutions (Nile, KEDI, KIS etc...),have expressed their desire to collaborate in the ADEA Triennale by capitalizing their experiences with regards to the general theme and sub-themes of the of the Triennale.
The KOREA-AFRICA Day main objective is to share the outcomes of their work of capitalization with the African Ministers and experts. The discussions during this day will allow also to analyze the future cooperation prospects between South Korea and Africa in terms of Education, Training and Research.
