August, the 4th 2008 :
The ADEA Secretariats installation at the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Tunis was officially launched today at AfDB headquarter. The new premises were inaugurated in the presence of the Vice President, operations sector, Mrs. Zeinab El Bakri, the ADEA Chair, Mr. Dzingai Mutumbuka and the former Chair of the Bureau of Ministers, Mrs. Rosalie Kama-Niamayoua, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, in charge of Literacy of the Republic of Congo. Twenty years after its creation, ADEA, solidly anchored in Africa, pursues its mission to act as a catalyst for promising policies and practices through the pooling of knowledge, experience and lessons learned.

From 25th to 28th of August 2008 a Digital Summer University will take place in Hammamet jointly organized by the Digital Solidarity Fund (FSN), with the support of African Development Bank (AfDB), the French Cooperation (AFD - Agence Française de Développement) and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC). Teachers, pedagogical advisors and African editors will be in Hammamet with the objective of implementing education portals that will facilitate the development and sharing of digital educational resources between African communities of educationists. The university aims at having a digital education program up and running in francophone Africa by September 2008.
