Peace Mediator Training

The Ministry of Education of Kenya and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) met with the African ministers of education and the main bilateral and multilateral agencies for development cooperation in October 2009 in Mombasa. During this Meeting, Martine Libertino, was invited to give a talk on her vision of education for peace and the various programmes she is conducting (teaching her philosophy for peace in the World, training mediators, the School of philosophical awakening for children and young people, mediation in families and companies, etc.). Following her talk during this Meeting, the Ministry of Education of the Democratic Republic of Congo approached ADEA to enable peace mediator training programmes (See Box 1 for the content of the Training Program) to be held in its country. ADEA acted as facilitator, assisting collaboration between the DRC and OSISA (the Foundation "Open Society Initiative of Southern Africa") which decided to support this initiative by Congo.
