The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) have published a document entitled Status Report on Adolescents and Young People in Sub-Saharan Africa: Opportunities and Challenges.

The report provides key data concerning one-third of the population of sub-Saharan Africa: young people aged 10 to 24. It is structured according to six themes: population, education, employment, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and gender equality and social protection.

The report presents the available data for 45 countries in the form of 25 specific indicators, disaggregated by age and sex.
