The Ministry of Basic Education in Botswana (MOBE) in collaboration with the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) will conduct a virtual launch of the Inter-Country Quality Node on Secondary Education (ICQN-SE) on Tuesday, 9th March 2021, from 11:00am to 1:00pm Botswana time (GMT+2). The launch is geared towards raising awareness and publicising the ICQN-SE. Invited participants will include African Ministers of Education, ADEA Secretariat members, Ministry of Basic Education officials, Parliament officials, and representatives from the Mastercard Foundation, Academia and other institutions focused on secondary education.

Objectives of the launch

The objectives of the launch are to:

  1. Creating awareness and publicity for the ICQN-SE
  2. Presenting the latest transformation strides on reforms: “Outcome Based Education and its associated pathways” by the host country (Botswana)
  3. Signing of the MoU between MOBE and ADEA

Expected results

The launch is expected to yield the following deliverables:

  1. Increased visibility of the ICQN-SE
  2. Strengthened partnerships and commitment
  3. Laid down activities, roles and functions of the ICQN-SE 
  4. Detailed guidelines related to the Strategic Framework (2020-2025) of the ICQN-SE​
