2010 - Continuation of work on the strategic policy framework of the holistic vision of education - workshop in Harare:

Following the work of developing a guidance document to operationalize the holistic view, a workshop was held in Harare from 6 to 9 December 2010. It was designed to validate the vision document, develop a strategic framework to use the tools of this vision in the preparation of the Triennial of 2012 and reach a consensus on how to operationalize the vision in regions Francophone, Anglophone, Lusophone and Arabic. It brought together some thirty participants from governmental structures, the regional economic commissions of the African Union, civil society, cooperation agencies and the research world. The workshop allowed to have two formats of the policy framework document (detailed version to the attention of experts and summarized version to the attention of decision makers). These two documents will be finalized later, by a select committee, for dissemination and outreach at the Triennale ADEA.

Government structures, the regional economic commissions of the African Union, civil society, cooperation agencies, the Executive Secretary of ADEA, the UIL and the world of research.

2010 - Technical Workshop on the issues of quality cross-country center on literacy and language accompanying CREAA:

From 20 to 22 December 2010 was held in the conference room of the Hotel Splendide in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, an international technical workshop on the issues of division of inter-country quality of the ADEA. Thirteen (13) African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso,Cameroon, Central Africa, Gabon, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Chad, Togo, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Gambia) and various regional organizations, international and private sector attended the meeting . Organized by MEBA in partnership with the Working Group for Non-Formal Education of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (WGNFE / ADEA), the meeting was attended by forty five (45)participants with the aim of bring the main actors of non-formal education on the continent to reflect on the issues of division of inter-country quality of literacy. On this occasion, the policy framework of the holistic vision of education was presented and experts from 12 member countries present committed themselves to use it. The 12 countries present were involved in the center of inter-country quality and have identified the issues that they want to work.

2010 - Participated in a conference on education and the fight against poverty in South Korea.

The WGNFE the ADEA Secretariat and the Minister of Basic Education and Literacy of Burkina Faso participated in a conference on education and the fight against poverty in South Korea. This meeting brought together ministers of education and cooperation, business leaders, representatives of civil society and academic institutions of science and technology of South Korea. This mission was also the opportunity to build partnerships with actors South Korean. A partnership of three years was signed between the Association of South Korean Educators Without Borders (EWB) and the Association for the Promotion of Non-Formal Education in Burkina Faso (APENF). The South Korean agency for development (KOICA) and WGNFE are committed to the non-formal and empower girls and women literate in Burkina Faso and elsewhere in other African countries. South Korea was also chosen as the guest country at the Triennale in 2012 in Ouagadougou.

2010 - Participation in various meetings and support processes and consultations at the host country in Burkina Faso:

The WGNFE contributed to various meetings at the national level to support and strengthen reflection on issues relevant to the ENF. These are: 

a) Participation in a workshop and a festival of nomad music on the theme "Farming, rural land and environmental protection." This festival has focused, among other things, on creating relevant actions to guide decision makers on defining policies and strategies for efficient development of livestock sector in relation to education; 

b) Participation in the day of the joking relationship between cross-border cultures; 

c) Contribution to the development of the Strategic Development Program of Basic Education (PDSEB, 2011-2015) and the National Accelerated Literacy (PRONAA, 2011 -2015); 

d) Participation in the 5th General Assembly of the Fund for Literacy and Non Formal Education (FONAENF); 

e) Participation in the national forum on Burkinabe languages​​, held on "national language, socio-economic development lever of Burkina Faso"; 

f) Participation in the International Women's Day March 8, 2010 in Koudougou on the theme "Women, Literacy and Non-formal education";

2010 - The capitalization of Reflect and workshop for sharing experiences on Reflect:

The WGNFE supported APENF and Pamoja of West Africa in a capitalization of experiences of implementation of Reflect, at the regional level, to strengthen the internal and external efficiency of educational process and the increased visibility of educational gains. This document is available funding. It is broadcast in French and English. A workshop on sharing of these experiences was organized, with participants are from Benin, the Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.

2010 - Attended a workshop analysis of education policies and the fight against poverty

In November 2010 a workshop on policy analysis, education and fight against poverty took place in Accra, with the participation The WGNFE, as well as Anglophone and Francophone countries of the network of Pamoja West Africa. 2010 - Participation at the conference on Women's March in New York

The coordinator of the WGNFE attended the 54th session of the Status of Women at UN headquarters in New York. This forum provided an opportunity to advocate for non-formal education and to present the policy framework of the holistic vision of education that was highly appreciated as an instrument to reduce gender inequalities.

2010 - Dynamics of national working groups

 In 2010, the national working groups have WGNFE advocacy and research at different levels:

  • WG of Chad (ATPENF): Official recognition of the Chadian Association for the Promotion of Non-formal education, information and awareness among stakeholders of the education system of Chad on the Framework of the holistic, integrated and diversified; a study on the inventory of AENF in Chad during the last decade, participation in technical meetings and consultations at national level.
  •  WG of Benin (CRADENF): Conducting a study on "The introduction of national languages ​​in the Beninese education system; evaluation of current experiences and perspectives." This study to document and analyze experiments in bi-and multilingual education in Benin to make substantial proposals for the introduction of effective and efficient national languages ​​in the various levels of education.
  •  WG Burkina Faso (APENF): Contribution to the capitalization of experiences Reflect at the subregional level, participation in the Lomé workshop on EMIS, other activities at the national level.
  • WG of Senegal: Making an impact study of community schools based on the implantation sites and graduates of the period 1993 - 2000 in the region of Kolda, Senegal; Organizing a Retreat the guiding framework for a holistic, integrated and diversified basic education; publication of the second issue of the newsletter group on issues relating to different themes.
  • WG of Cape Verde: Support for the organization of the seventh international meeting of the Forum on Paulo Freire with the Directorate General for Education and Adult Education and the University of Cape Verde. The theme was: "Paulo Freire and Friendly Cabral for a rereading of education and global citizenship."

2010 - Participation in the Bamako workshop on African languages​​, cross-border

The WGNFE organized ACALAN, UNESCO Breda, UIL and OIF workshop which aimed to propose a harmonized alphabet for Manding/Bambara, Fulfulde and Hausa. The workshop was also to strengthen advocacy for the inclusion of these languages​​.

2010 - Organization and participation at the conference in Ouagadougou on the Integration of African languages ​​and cultures in education.

The conference, jointly organized by ADEA, UIL, UNESCO Breda and the Ministry of Basic Education and Literacy of Burkina Faso, has deepened further the lessons learned by the analytical work on bilingual education and the use of African languages ​​as languages ​​of instruction. It also allowed experts to appropriate guidelines on the development and implementation of language policies in education.

2010 - Participation at the workshop in Lome experts from ECOWAS Member States on information systems and management (EMIS).

The WGNFE attended this conference was an opportunity for the group of experts to maintain actors / trices of Education of ECOWAS countries on indicators of the right to education. She also helped to stimulate the creation of the observatory. WG experts from countries, the ministries of other member countries of ECOWAS, the AU experts participants were sensitized and committed to take into account the size of the NF in the observatory of the AU. ECOWAS has taken a strong recommendation to revisit its action plan to take into account the literacy of adolescents and adults.

2010 - Participation in a seminar / training on tracking education budgets:

The WGNFE participated in the seminar which was held in Ouagadougou with Pamoja West Africa and the entire network Francophone and Lusophone countries (Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Guinea, Guinea Bissau). In all, twenty people were trained and skills and are available in the country. These people are able to track budgets for non-formal education, to challenge policy makers and to advocate for NFE.

2010 - Analytical work

A major focus of analytical work is GENF. In 2010, the WGNFE contributed to the development and production of several documents:

  • Contribution to the development of the Guide "Gender and human rights in education systems: benchmarks and actions of CIEFFA." The WGNFE participated in the development, by CIEFFA, a guidance document which is a practical tool for the effective inclusion of gender and the right to education in education systems.
  • Production of compilations of the 2008 Biennale on the experiences of post-primary. They were distributed at conferences in Bamako and Ouagadougou on languages​​.
