Alexis Le Nestour is an independent quantitative researcher based in France. He studied foundational learning and education system performance in low- and middle-income countries, especially Francophone Africa, using administrative and learning assessments data, positive-deviance methods, and applied econometrics to generate decision tools for ministries.

He currently consults for UNICEF (Innocenti’s Data Must Speak) and the Global Partnership for Education, and previously worked with PASEC (CONFEMEN), Save the Children UK and the Center for Global Development. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Otago.
