El Hadji Omar Thiam
Professor El Hadji Omar Thiam is a Senegalese university professor. Graduated from Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar, he holds a PhD in Lusophone Studies from Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle University. A CAMES Senior Lecturer and expert in Portuguese realist/naturalist literature, he has been a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Romance Languages at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at UCAD since 2009. He is the author of several articles, journal contributions and conference papers.
He is involved in the governance of higher education, having notably represented the Senegalese Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) at UNESCO events. Prof. Thiam, Director of Studies and Cooperation at MESRI, has been appointed Coordinator of the ADEA Inter-Country Quality Node on Higher Education and Scientific Research (ICQN-HESR).
