In a significant step to begin implementation of the Education and Skills Data Challenge (ESDC) project in Nigeria, the ADEA ESDC team has engaged education officials and key stakeholders in Nigeria to begin the process of developing capacity-strengthening action plan on the production and use of education and skills data in alignment with national priorities highlighted in the country needs assessment report. The two-day exercise brought together the project’s focal points and key actors in the production and use of data in the education and training sector in Nigeria.

The action plan, developed through a collaborative effort, aligns with the key priorities of Nigeria’s Ministry of Education focusing on data analytics, advocacy and sensitization on use of quality data and outlines key priorities, activities, timelines and targets to ensure successful project execution.

The action will guide Nigeria’s activities in the coming months, and ensure effective implementation and progress towards supporting Nigeria to achieve its national education priorities and the project’s objectives.
