Validation Workshop of the Continental Mapping of School Leadership Initiative in Africa
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) is convening a Validation workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, from 10–13 February 2026, bringing together school leadership stakeholders, including policymakers, professional development providers, researchers, school leaders, and education officials. The workshop serves as a platform to review and refine mapping findings, ensure contextual relevance, and co-create a roadmap for strengthening school leadership across African countries.
Workshop objectives
The core objective of the validation workshop is to review, refine, and validate the school leadership mapping findings through inclusive, multi-stakeholder consultation. The workshop will ensure the evidence is accurate, credible, and relevant, while fostering shared ownership and translating insights into actionable priorities. The validated findings will inform national policy reforms and, at regional and continental levels, guide frameworks and strategic priorities. They will also strengthen leadership practices, shape professional development, inform research and evidence generation and promote coordinated collaboration across Africa.
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) is a collaborative initiative that works with governments to establish and strengthen school leadership systems that enhance teaching quality, learning outcomes, and student well-being. ACSL is coordinated by four Pan-African organisations —the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA), the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), and VVOB – education for development — and works in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
